SikkimTitbits

-Mild earthquake rocked Gangtok in the evening of May 18 at around Gangtok which lasted for 3 to 4 second only. According to reported the quake is measured 5.9 Richer scale. No damage has been reported so far. -Chicken import allowed in Sikkim after a week. The ban was put following the sudden death of thousand chicken at a poultry farm,Matigara, Siliguri.

-A lady passenger died on the spot when a taxi SK-04-7685 met an accident at Kalang on May 17. The taxi was going to Kalang from Melli, South Sikkim. The dead body of deceased is identified as Mrss Tara Ghimirey. The vehicle slipped from the road and fall 80 down the hill.

-Three persons were injured in different motor accidents at Gezing Pemayangchi gate, Salghari Scholl and Fidang. -A worker of of Grade corporation died after falling from the pillar of electricity at Sorak busty, South Sikkim. The deceased is identified as Arjun Mandal(40), resident of Bhagalpur, Bihar.

-In the early morning around 7.45 A.M. on May 17, a dried tree of approximately 50 feet in height and 6 feet in girth smashed into ground hitting a Alto Car no. S.K. 04-3455 at Shiv Mandir area, Panihouse Gangtok and injured four persons.
