TRULSHIK RINPOCHE ON WEEK-LONG VISIT TO SIKKIM


NAMCHI, May 14: The Samdruptse Management Committee and South District Duechen Tshogpo of Namchi are in hectic preparation for the ‘Tshog and Kawang’ at Samdruptse premises on 15 and 16 May that will be performed by Trulshik Rinpoche Ngawang Chokyi Lodro – one of the great Dharma Master of Tibetan Buddhism, who is in Sikkim presently on a weeklong visit to different monasteries of the state.

On 13 May the Rinpoche was given a warm reception at Assangthang Helipad by members of the South District Duechen Tshogpo, Head of government departments and huge assemblage of monks and devotees. Latter the Rinpoche performed prayer and puja for the good health and prosperous life of the peoples of Sikkim. He was thereafter accompanied by monks to Namchi from Dehradun at Serdup Choeling Monastery at Alley, Namchi.

“The Rinpoche brought with him lot of happiness and spiritual upliftments in my life. I am indeed lucky to have been blessed by him”, said Dikim Bhutia, one of the devotees speaking to Sikkim Express today. Meanwhile a huge number of devotees received blessing from Rinpoche, ensuing a long wait to meet the spiritual leader.

According to the organisers, a huge multitude of devotees are expected to participate in ‘Tsog and Kawang’ at Samdruptse. Likewise all arrangements for the same is also in its final touch, Informing about rest of the programme of Rinpoche from 17 to 19 May Kawang will held at Serdup Cholling Gumpa at Alley and on 20 May puja will be held at Nadak Gumpa of Ghurbesy.

Likewise, the Rinpoche is also said to performed Bhumi Puja at Nadak monastery premises for the construction of new gumpa at Upper Ghurbesy. On 21 May he will visit Namdorling Gumpa of Boomtar to performed puja. Meanwhile it was informed that he will go to Khecheodpalri lake in West Sikkim as a part of his extended programmes. The Rinpoche’s visit is organised by the South district Duechen Tshogpo and the state government.
