सिक्किम titbits

- The people of Sikkim and Darjeeling rejoiced as their beloved singer Prasant Tamang entered into the final list of the music competition organized by Sony Entertainment channel. The hill echoed with the slogan of SMS 2525 to PRASANT who reached to final-3 in Indian idol for the first time. The customers complained for poor service of bsnl and other mobile services and burnt down the hoardings at Darjeeling and Kurseong and expressed their anguish. -10 minor girls aged between 8 to 10 rescued from the clutches of a woman at Siliguri who was trying to bring them in Sikkim as domestic helpers.

-Delhi: Delhi high court found Maninder Palsingh Kohali guilty of raping and murdering a British teenager Hanna Foster and gave order to extradite him to Britain.

-In Ranipool, East Sikkim a widow, named Hem Kumari Chhetri reported to have been tortured her physically and mentally and sought the help of Women's commission. She has a son of 4 years old.

-The District court granted bail to Nar bahadur Bhandari and others in a defamation case filed by the state government.

-Darjeeling: Madan Tamang, the president of Akhil Bharatiya Gorkha league alleged West Bengal Government for exploiting the people of Darjeeling in the name of 6th schedule of Indian constitution.

-Dooars: The wild element made the life of people measurable following their constant attack to their lives and properties. Four people were injured by Wild elephant at Ramjhora tea garden. In the past, several houses have been damaged and many people have been killed by wild elephant.
