Sikkim Sangram Parishad was formed on the 24th of may 1984. It was a political party and was formed by Nar Bahadur Bhandari, a prominent politician and the three time Chief Minister of Sikkim. Sikkim Sangram Parishad was formed after dissolving Sikkim Janata Party.
The party contested the March 1985 State Assembly Elections and won. Bhandari became the Chief Minister of Sikkim for the second time. Sikkim Sangram Parishad won yet again in 1989 sweeping the Assembly seats. Bhandari formed the Government and became the Chief Minister for the third time. The Government however, lost a 'vote of confidence' in May 1994 and was forced to resign.
