Badhaichha Creation completes “Sikkim’s No. 1 Dancer” auditions

SINGTAM, APRIL 17: Sikkim’s No. 1 Dancer, Search for the Sikkim’s best solo dancer started with a grand anticipation with 168 participants from different parts of the state making their presence felt. The two days audition round for Junior and Senior Category was completed on April 14 and April 15 at Nepali Dharamsala, Singtam.

The inaugural day of the competition had Junior Audition Round that had 74 participants while the next day for the Senior Audition Round there were 95 aspiring participants dancing for the coveted title. A total of 41 participants from each category were selected by the three judges for the next round. The three judges of Sikkim’s No. 1 Dancer were Sushma Chetrri from Namchi, Hemanta Das from Assam and Bijay Tamang from Nepal. Remanti Rai, winner of North East Ke Superstar Singing Competition was the host of the event along with Chandra Bahadur Subba.

One of the major attractions at the Junior Audition round was seven year old dancing wonder kid Irfan Sheikh from Namchi who was in news for his participation at the audition of the ZEE TV reality dance show Junior Dance India Dance recently. Sikkim’s No. 1 Dancer Solo Dance competition was organized by Badhaichha Creation, Singtam in association with Singtam Basibiyalo and Proud To Be A Sikkimese Blog. The Media Partners for the events was Sikkim Express, Samay Dainik, Nayuma Television, Voice of Sikkim and 91.9 FM, Gangtok. The mega event was supported by SPARK NGO, Singtam and Cricket Philately website.

Speaking to this reporter, Praveen Pradhan, Managing Director of Badhiachha Creation has informed that there would be a special ‘Dance Workshop’ for the selected 80 participants this April 22, Sunday at Nepali Dharamsala, Singtam. The three judges would share valuable instructions and their experiences with the dancers. The discussion about the ‘Judges Round’ to be performed by the participants in their next round shall also be held, informed Pradhan. Pradhan has thanked participants from different parts of Sikkim for their participation.

Indra Pradhan, Central Executive Member of SDF and the chairperson of Sikkim’s No.1 Dancer in her speech had told that the competition had primarily focused on the participants from rural areas and we are happy we had succeeded in it. Pradhan went on to add that parents should be serious about their children being part of such cultural activities and these types of activities help in a child development of an individual.

Speaking on the occasion the guests on both days appreciated the team of Badhaichha Creation, Singtam for organizing such events and promoting youngsters. Best part of the competition was the fact that the majority of the performers was from rural areas and we were fortunate to watch those talents, echoed everyone. Even the Judges shared their view that they were happy to come across different talent house under a same roof.

Winning and losing is always a part of a game and for the disappointed one who could not get through to the next round, Singtam Basibiyalo shall provide them opportunity, said Mohan Pradhan ‘Neeraj’, Sansthapak of famed Singtam Basibiyalo.

Sawan Pradhan, President Singtam Nagar Panchayat was the Chief Guest of the inaugural day. Singtam prepares for “Sikkim’s No.1 Dancer”



Singtam, April 7: Badhaichha Creation in association with famed Singtam Basibiyalo and ‘Proud To Be A Sikkimese’ Blog is set to organize a state level solo dance competition at Singtam. The dance competition is aptly called “Sikkim’s No. 1 Dancer”, Search for the Sikkim’s best Solo Dancer. The Media Partners for the events are Sikkim Express, Samay Dainik, Nayuma Television, Voice of Sikkim and 91.9 FM, Gangtok.
Indra Pradhan, Central Executive Member of SDF Party is the Chairperson of the Sikkim’s No.1 Dancer Competition Committee. The other distinguished committee members includes Jas Maya Rai, Vice Convenor Cheli Morcha (East) Rinchenpong, Pakyong, Karma Doma Bhutia, Vice Convenor Cheli Morcha (East), Rhenock, Mohan Pradhan ‘Neeraj”, Sansthapak Singtam Basibiyalo and TB Pradhan, President Singtam Newar Kalyan Sangathan, Praveen Pradhan, Managing Director Badhaichha Creation and Shital Pradhan, Blogger, Proud To Be A Sikkimese.  
The dance competition shall consist of three rounds i.e. Audition, Semi and Grand Finale. The Audition Round starts on April 14-15, 2012 and shall be of three minutes. The participants can perform at any form of dance but for the next two rounds there shall be Judges Round. The participants can perform in English, Nepali and Hindi songs only. The age for junior category is between 7 and 14 while for the senior category the age limit is from 15 to 25.
The forms are available at Hotel Beli Pushpa (PS Road, Gangtok), Sai Dance Academy (Deorali), New Heaven Dance Institute (Singtam), Step Dance Sensation Academy (Namchi), Prachis (Jorethang), Gupta Xerox (Rongli) and Technocom Internet Café (Rhenock). The registration form should be submitted at Gangaa Niwas, Opposite Gumpa, Shantinagar by April 12, 2012.
Praveen Pradhan, Managing Director of Badhaichha Creation has stated that main motive behind the competition is to promote the winners of the two categories. We would like to support and encourage our dance winners at different state level dance events and at national dance reality shows too. Dalapchand SS bid farewell to outgoing Class X students

Dalapchand, April 5:  A musical farewell was organized for the outgoing Class X students of Dalapchand Secondary School yesterday at the school premises. The major attraction of the couple of an hour long program was Remanti Rai, winner of North East Ke Superstar, Prakash Sundas, Namchi Mahatsov winner 2011, Mohan Pradhan ‘Neeraj’, Sansthapak Singtam Basibiyalo and Praveen Pradhan, Managing Director of Badhaichha Creation. Also present on the occasion was School staff, students and guardians. Colourful musical presentation by the students included singing and dancing
 competitions. 
Prabha Sharma, Discipline Captain of the school was the host of the day. The few hour long program included speeches from Bipen Pradhan, the present School Captain, Ishwar Dawari, the former School Captain, Mr. Karma T Bhutia, In-Charge Dalapchand SS, TN Poudhyal, Senior Teacher and SD Bhutia, GT (Bio). Every teacher in their speeches shared best wishes to the outgoing students and told them to be an excellent example for a society. Singers Remanti Rai and Prakash Sundas enthralled the gathered crowds with their entertaining voices.
Speaking on the occasion, Mohan Pradhan ‘Neeraj’ thanked the school authority for inviting him at the school function. Dalapchand SS had played a significant role in the Basibiyalo programmes since last one year and has hoped that the participants from the school shall always be welcomed at cultural meet, added Pradhan.
This is my second visit to the school function at Dalapchand and I shall always be available any day at any function, said Prakash Sundas, who distributed singing tracks to the winners of the singing competition. Praveen Pradhan, Managing Director of Badhaichha Creation told we are glad to visit at this school and be part of this wonderful program, I wish these participants both singers and dancers a bright future in days to come.
Subash Rai of Class X went on to win the popular singing competition “Voice of Dalapchand” sponsored by Badhaichha Creation, Singtam that was followed by Prerna Gurung of Class IX and Araj Gurung of Class X winning the second and third positions respectively. Similarly “Dancing Stars of Dalapchand” was won by Adarsh & Group followed by Bijeyeta & Group and Deepshika and Group. The dance trophy was sponsored by Proud to Be a Sikkimese Blog. Generous Student, the student’s forum of Dalapchand SS had organized a singing competition for the primary sections were highly appreciated by audiences. Rohan Chettri from Class V, Aashika Rai and Prerna Rai from Class III bagged the first three positions in the competition.

Sushma Chettri performs the first Nepali Mujra on stage at Sikkim




Nepal’s singing celebrity Anju Pant’s much sought after nepali song “Na Birse Timilai” found a new breathe of life when a  mujra was performed at Namchi Municipal Corporation Hall, last Saturday on March 30, 2012.  Probably the first Nepali mujra performed at any form of stage in Sikkim, Sushma Chettri, Director and Proprietor of Step Dance Sensation Academy (SDSA) won hearts for her marvelous performance. The auditorium was filled with applause and the gathered Namchi audience mesmerized with the performance of the evening. The occasion was the inaugural function of the Step Dance Sensation Academy at Namchi.
Speaking about her performance Sushma Chettri said initially she was reluctant to perform at this song but it was an encouragement from her SDSA team members that made her perform. This is one of my favourite songs and I am happy people have appreciated my effort, added Chettri.
A couple of an hour long programme had many breath taking performances in different forms of dance from the young dancers of the Institute.  The other noted performers of the evening was Poojan Lohagun, Sushila Rai, Surgam Sikkim finalist, Mani Kumar Rai and Sumitra Shanker, finalist of Namchi Mahotsav 2011.
