Delhi BJP leaders call on Sikkim Lok Sabha MP PD Rai

PRESS RELEASE

Press Secretary
Office of PD Rai, Lok Sabha MP for Sikkim

Senior leaders of the BJP’s Delhi state unit Shri Sanjeev Sharma, Shri KM Gupta and Councilor Archana Gupta called on Sikkim Lok Sabha MP PD Rai here today (June 20, 2014) at his residence at Tadong.
They exchanged views on several important issues and appreciated the governance of the State under the leadership of Shri Pawan Chamling. Earlier the BJP leaders had visited Nathula and in their meeting with Rai, they expressed that there is great potential for the State in the tourism sector. They assured Rai that they will speak to MoS (IC) Tourism Shri Shripad Yasso Naik in this regard. They also commented on how Prime Minister Narendra Modi had praised Sikkim in his maiden speech in Parliament.
Rai explained to them that Sikkim is a strategic border State and therefore maintaining peace within the state is of utmost importance. Stressing that any form of disturbance from across the Bengal border or otherwise cannot be allowed, he said that the people of Sikkim are the sentinels of peace.
Councilor Archana Gupta has invited Rai to visit her ward in North Delhi when he returns to Delhi for the next session of Parliament.
