They assured Rai that they will speak to MoS (IC) Tourism Shri Shripad Yasso Naik in this regard. They also commented on how Prime Minister Narendra Modi had praised Sikkim in his maiden speech in Parliament.
Rai explained to them that Sikkim is a strategic border State and therefore maintaining peace within the state is of utmost importance. Stressing that any form of disturbance from across the Bengal border or otherwise cannot be allowed, he said that the people of Sikkim are the sentinels of peace.
