Namthang girl Reshma Subba to participate at ‘Celebration of Excellence’ in New Delhi



SINGTAM, AUGUST 9:  Reshma Subba, resident of Ahaley Namthang, South Sikkim is leaving to New Delhi on August 10 on three day visit to participate at an event “Celebration of Excellence” to be held on the eve of the Independence Day 2014. She will also be among students from different corners of the country to be present at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Speech at Red Fort on August 15.
An email received by Reshma Subba reads, she had been selected for the participation in the celebration of excellence. Other programs includes visit to historical places on August 13, felicitation function of e-book “Hamara Dharohar, Hamara Sapna” at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi the next day and participation in the Independence Day at Red Fort.
Reshma Subba is the daughter of Dharma Raj Subba and Manju Subba. She was a Horticulture Student at Namthang SSS and had passed out her Class XII exams in 2014. This early June, Reshma Subba also had received a congratulatory letter for Smiriti Zubin Irani, Minister, HRDD, Government of India for her wonderful performance in CBSE Class XII exams.
DK Sharma, Principal Namthang SSS, on the behalf of the staff had expressed his congratulation to Reshma Subba and her parents. Sharma added Namthang SSS had been making better progress at academic levels in the state. This year overall percentage at Class XII exams was 95.5 % which was the highest in the state. Last year too, our student achieved the highest mark at Humanity subject in the state, added Sharma.
