The Prime Minister in his address has called for the creation of a “SMART” police force: a police which is strict yet sensitive; modern and mobile; alert and accountable; reliable and responsive; techno-savvy and trained. The Prime Minister said taking this conference out of Delhi will bring more focus to the main agenda at hand, besides increasing the morale of police forces in the North-East.

The CM thanked the Prime Minister for the historical decision of opening up Nathula-Mansarovar route for the Yatra. Chamling has concurred with the Prime Minister's Act East policy and highlighted what Sikkim has to offer in terms of tourism, horticulture and organic farming.
