Gorkhalis are not indian aboriginals but they are purer aryan breed (indian are mule of aryan and dravids) who settled first in the Karnali basin of westenr nepal and nowadays' uttaranchal. They were Khas people and are believed to be migrated from Persia, now Iran (before Christ I guess). They adopted hinduism only after 14th century othewise they were Buddhist and shaman worshiper. You can find this fact even today in Dailekh district of western Nepal.

The orginal gorkhali community comprised of Chhetris, thakuris, and magars (who came to contact of gorkhas first). A Lamjunge prince called drabya shah got the blessing of baba gorkhnathan and won a state called Liglig and named after baba gorakhnath 'Gorkha', a district in nepal now. His descendant, great king P N Shah and his like son Bahadur Shah extended the territory of gorkha with the help of chhetri, thakuri, magar and gurung Sutlej in the west, teesta in the west, mansharovar to the north and purnia and Jamuna river in the south. Yes, after Anglo-Gorkha war the definition of Gorkha expanded to Limbus, rais, tamangs and even Sherpas.

writing such thigs may help Gorkhalis who live in India but this is not the truth. So, please go through extensive research before publishing. We are not originated from India.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03204850207139201704noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7242392292917980943.post-23024094064207774752010-09-15T14:13:37.238+05:302010-09-15T14:13:37.238+05:30it was worth reading nd felt proud 2 b gorkhay.it was worth reading nd felt proud 2 b gorkhay.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15704948148130712362noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7242392292917980943.post-63653100404592406182010-05-27T02:01:01.318+05:302010-05-27T02:01:01.318+05:30hahahahahaha this article made me lmfao..The word ...hahahahahaha this article made me lmfao..The word ''Gorkha or Gurkha '' is exclusively for the People of Nepal and their descendents living abroad only.''Gorkhas are aborigines of India''WTF!!man...I am an Indian and never ever read in our history books that Gorkhas are aborigines of India. In fact we dont have a single page regarding the gorkhas.Coz i know Gorkhas are people of Nepal not India.I think the writer of this article has never been to school or havent read history books.hahahaha..Watever be the history but at present only the Nepalese people are called Gorkhas.Talking about the Indian Nepalese/Gorkhas,most of them are people who migrated from Nepal long time ago or they are from the parts which Britsh India annexed during Anglo-Nepal war.And the writer himself is an emmigrant from Nepal.Coz Dewan comes under Rai community. And the homeland of Rai community is Estern hills of Nepal.Rai people are not the natives of Assam.not only Rais,Magars and gurungs are from western Nepal whereas Newa are from Kathmandu valley. So plz dont try to fool urself and us saying u are not of Nepali origin,u are aboorigines of India.U are just being a laughingstock. The modern Gorkha history began with the unification campaign of Nepal led by king prithvi narayan shah of Gorkha district of Nepal. Before that, Only the people of Gorkha district were called gorkhalis not the entire Nepal. It is later that the british name the Nepali soldiers as Gorkha.Gorkhas are not homogeneous community. It comprises of different community. And every community has their own mother tounge but not khas vasa.It is only during first and second world war that the gurkha/gorkha came in limelight. So my point is that dont try to seperate Gorkha from Nepal.coz Gorkhas are Nepalese and viceversa.People of Indian origins are not called Gorkhas.Go to England and say i am Gorkha but i am not a Nepali, they will laugh at you.And one more thing If Gorkhas were already there in Inida dan y did Britsh recruited people of Nepal as Gorkhas.Y didnt they recruit so called abooriigines of India. And still countries like Great Britian,Singapore, brunei recruit Nepali soldiers as brave Gorkhas.India also recruits Nepali people in their gorkha regiment. So to the writer(mr.nanda kirati dewan),dont try to seperate Gorkhas from Nepaal coz it is like separarting indians from bharat. And it is ridiculously very funny. Most of all u are an Indian now.Ur ancestors came from Nepal but that is long long time ago.Now u are an Indian.so no need to call urself a Gorkha/Nepali.I hope u can understand wat i m trying to say.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08347972699276580610noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7242392292917980943.post-5287306076120270462010-01-13T08:51:27.868+05:302010-01-13T08:51:27.868+05:30The origin of the term "Gorkha" has not ...The origin of the term "Gorkha" has not been illustrated in the article in a relevant manner. According to my knowledge the term was used in ancient times to denote the followers of Baba Gorakhnath during the ancient times, in the region of the present day Rajasthan in India. After Prithvi Narayan Shah started his conquests only certain communities were considered to be a Gorkha. Even the limbus (yakthumbas) did not come under the Gorkha term then. In fact they fought against the gorkha forces of Prithvi Narayan. They gave in only when their General Khangso was treacherously killed by the Gorkhas. The Gorkhas became a pronounced community only after the Anglo-Gorkha war of 1814 whereby the British under general ochterlony slapped the Sugaului treaty. The british were quick to realise the opportunity to recruit the gorkha under the British opportunity. Thus the modern day Gorkha term originates here. But sadly the term has been exploited by the entire nepali community to gain a coinage in the history of the world.zorbongthinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09155507820005593298noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7242392292917980943.post-24766382357123047272009-12-24T15:13:34.246+05:302009-12-24T15:13:34.246+05:30A very interesting read.
