Sikkim Cricket
Association (SICA) intends to conduct Second Edition of Inter-School Tournament
for Under 16 & 19 Boys’ and Under 19 Girls’. In 2017, SICA had conducted
the first inter-school tournament zone-wise but in 2018 couldn’t hold the
tournament due to sudden participation of SICA in fourteen different National
Level Tournaments conducted by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)
as a full member.
This year SICA has
sent an invitation to Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools of Sikkim along
with the tournament form and an article “Cricket as a Career”. This invitation
letter is posted on our Facebook page and our website www.sikkimcricket.com also.
Any School interested in participation should fill the form and send the scan
copy to our email – sca@sikkimcricket.com. Once we get the response
from various schools than the modalities will be worked out by the SICA to
conduct the School tournaments.
The main motive behind
this tournament is to promote the sport of cricket in state and also search new
talents from every corner of the state and work on grooming these talents from
the grass-root level and prepare individuals for the National Level tournaments
of various categories.
