KB Rai reaches to the public of Rongli, Chujachen and Kingstone

RONGLI, APRIL 4: “ had always had a stronghold at 20-Chujachen Constituency and never had the public of lost faith at the ruling party and this time too I am sure we will receive the highest margin from this constituency”, said , candidate SDF from 20 - Chujachen Constituency at the program held at the heart of .

Rai further spoke about his plans for the better development of this region. Also, present on the occasion were the powerhouse political leaders in Puran Gurung and Bikram Pradhan, former MLAs from , , Chairman SWC, and others. Door-to-door interaction with the public of the lower bazaar was also done.

On the earlier day, the leaders of SDF party conducted door to door visits at the that included Chujachen, Sungdung, , , , and others. Rai met with the public of the area. He listened to different matters placed by the public and assured full support and help from his side. KB Rai also addressed the gathered crowds at Kingstone for the general public .

Other political leaders to speak on the occasion included Shakti Prasad Adhikari, Puran Gurung, and Bikram Pradhan. Rai also interacted with the people of Kingstone, Maney dara, Kuttitar, Agrigaon.

The late Jungkyang Chogyal Palden Thondup Namgyal, seated with his mother Queen Mother Denzong Lhayumkusho, daughter of Rakasha family of Tibet, and Prince Wangchuk whose late mother hails from the Samdrup Phodrang family of Tibet. April 2,1973 and the downfall of Namgyal Dynasty in Sikkim

Today holds a special place in the history of Sikkim as it was on this day that mass agitation against the Chogyal rule took off, which led to the downfall of the monarchy rule in Sikkim. The agitation was a result “ due to serious differences which ensued with the demand of repoll in one booth by Kazi Lhendup Dorji and Mr. Krishna Chandra Pradhan, as such the Chogyal had to face the people's agitation launched by the Joint Action Committee with the tacit blessings of the Government of India.
