APRIL 6:
GANGTOK : The Sikkim government
launched a portal (www.covid19sikkim.org)
for circulating information on coronavirus outbreak at Tashiling Secretariat. The
COVID-19 Centralized Information System has been developed by IPR, Govt. of
Sikkim.
GANGTOK :In a letter
addressed to the President of India, Ganga Prasad, the Governor of Sikkim has
decided to donate 30 percent of his salary for next one year to PM CARES Fund
to fight against Corona outbreak.
APRIL 7:
GEYZING : Indra Hang Subba,
MP and Lok Nath Sharma, PHE Minister visited District Hospital Geyzing and
inspected quarantine and isolation centers. Geyzing Girls SSS is made the
isolation center where five persons were kept who had returned from outside the
state. It was mentioned that ambulance was made available in all the eight
primary health centre of the west district.

APRIL 9:
Different parts of Sikkim witnessed hailstorm
on afternoon. Destruction of crops on large scale had been reported.

GANGTOK : Labour Department of
Sikkim had sanctioned a relief amount of Rs. 2000 each to the registered
workers of buildings and other constructions. The amount had been transferred
to their bank accounts. The information was shared by SD Negi, Principal
Secretary, Labour Department. The state government had sanctioned Rs. 1.56
crore for the purpose. Pharma company workers were given additional daily
incentive of Rs. 300 during the lockdown period. This incentive was for those
on duty.
TASHIDING : Sangay Lepcha, Area
MLA and Deputy Speaker attended an awareness program where 10 students who had
returned home from institutions outside the state were discharged after
completing 14 days quarantine at Tashiding PHC, West Sikkim

APRIL 10
YANGANG : All women tailoring
group of Bhaley Dhunga Self Help Group (SHG) from Yangang Sub-division has come
forward to make cloths face masks. The 20 members in this group are from
Sripatam Gagyong, Yangang Rangang and Neya Mangzing GPUs.
APRIL 11
GANGTOK : PS Golay, Chief Minister
of Sikkim attended the video conference of PM with different CMs of India
regarding the ongoing COVID 19 scenario. CM informed 56 tests had been
conducted in the state which was negative.
950 stranded students of Sikkim outside the state had been provided with
financial help of Rs. 5000 per student. Also financial assistance to medical patients
outside the state are also helped, added CM.
Sonia Gandhi, President, INC held a video
conferencing with the Presidents of State Congress informed Bharat Basnet,
President, Sikkim Pradesh Congress.

GEYZING : Members of Khangchendzonga Motorcycle Club
(KMC), a biker club of West Sikkim, is providing one-time meal daily for police
personnel, municipal workers, labourers, Health workers and government
employees on duty during the lockdown period in the district. The members had
started the initiative on March 8 and will continue till the end of this
lockdown.
NAMCHI : SADA booked under-trial
commits suicide in the quarantine cell of Namchi. The deceased youth’s father
has filed a complaint at Namchi Police Station. The father believes his son was
physically and mentally fit.
