As the Boarder Roads Organization (BRO) was doing the cutting work since one and half year in the main National Highway 10A which links with Sikkim state lifeline without any good precautions which caused so many deaths and injuries to the vehicle plying towards Sikkim and towards the West Bengal itself.
ASDDF is concerned about the passersby and due to complete negligence of BRO, the life is in the stake of each and every drivers and the passengers who visits Sikkim through the Bhotey Vhir landslide zone. ASDDF appeals Government of West Bengal and the BRO that the matter should be resolve before the monsoon season, the tangle between state Public Works Department and the BRO should not take lives of innocent people again and again. G.M. Gurung further appeals to the West Bengal government that permanent solution is need of the hour and for that if BRO wants to divert the road for 3-4 days to make this landslide zone perfect then it would be very nice. Further ASDDF appeals contractors and concerned department of Sikkim to take this type of matter seriously, as in the home also due to carelessness of contractors so many accidents happened in the recent times. The recent accidents of 14th January at Bhotey Vhir had caused the major setback to the people which was a total negligence of the Boarder Roads Organization (BRO), it’s not a road which people wanted it’s a kind of setting up the ambush in the daylight, because anytime boulders will fall from the weak points and even with the vibrations of heavy vehicles , added Gurung.
