SPNS conducts Philatelic and Numismatic workshop at TNA

Gangtok, June 09 : Sikkim Philatelic and Numismatic Society conducted a one-day Philatelic and Numismatic workshop at Tashi Namgyal Academy at Gangtok. Display of philatelic and numismatic materials was also kept for the students.  TNA becomes the first school in Sikkim to set up a Philatelic and Numismatic club, reads the press release. The power-point presentation of how to start philately was explained by Vivek Yonzone while the Numismatic Workshop was carried out by Vikrant Yonzone. Ganesh Pradhan, President SPNS congratulated the school for coming up with the hobby club for students. Pradhan also thanked Retd. Major VK Pillai, Director cum Principal, TNA for initiating the hobby club. PSS completes a year; celebrates with free basic photography workshop

SINGTAM, DECEMBER 25: On the occasion of the first anniversary of the Photographic Society of Sikkim (Singtam), a one-day free basic photography workshop was conducted at Kidzee School, Singtam. Eighteen participants from nearby places of Singtam and beyond had participated. Those included places like Gangtok, Samdong, Rhenock, Kingstone, Ranipool, Singtam, Sang Khola, and others. The cake-cutting celebration was also held on the day The photography workshop had two sessions; indoor and outdoor. The indoor session had talks and discussions on three topics viz. Basics of Photography, Brief Introduction on Camera Insights and Night-Photography by Ujjwal Darjee, Sanket Agarwal, and Roshan Rai respectively, all members of PSS. Outdoor photo-shoot was held at the famed Rani-Khola river-side walkway and the premises of Kidzee School. Photographic Society of Sikkim concludes two day Photography Workshop

SINGTAM, JANUARY 8:  Photographic Society of Sikkim, Singtam concluded its two-day workshop on the theme ‘Basics of the Photography” at Temi Tea Garden on January 7. Thirteen participants were present on the occasion that was from in and around Singtam Town. Vivek Prasad, Nikon School India, Kolkata was the Instructor of the two-day program. The recently formed Photographic Society of Sikkim, Singtam in its press release had thanked the mentor and the participants for the success of the workshop. The two-day session included interaction and discussion between the participants and the Instructor.  The session had a theory class on the inaugural day that was held at Kid Zee School, Dhamala Colony, Singtam while on the next day field class was organized in the natural scenic beauty of Temi Tea Garden, reads the press release.
