SIKKIM THIS WEEK (APRIL 13 - APRIL 18)

APRIL 13 DZULUK : The Forest department had issued eviction notices to 84 families in Dzuluk near Changu, East Sikkim for alleged encroaching of the forest land. The notice mentioned that the families had made illegal houses in the area. Further, the notice issued on April 7 reads the removal of houses in the next 15 days. file pic RANGPO : Officials of the Animal Husbandry Department, members of Rangpo Nagar Panchayat, and Rangpo Police visited meat stalls at Rangpo and Majhitar. Most of the meat stalls were found unhygienic and cleanliness was not maintained. The owners of the stalls were given orders to close down their shops for three days and maintain proper hygienic surroundings. Rotary Club of Gangtok Confers Nation Builder Awards 2017 to Teachers

Engineers build bridges, Doctors save lives, and Police ensure law & order, but the teacher builds all of them; in that sense, they are the true Nation Builders. Acknowledging the efforts of the teachers, who are the True Nation Builders, is crucial. Rotary India Literacy Mission's Nation Builder Award recognizes one outstanding teacher from a school through an evaluation process that involves the participation of the Principal/ Head Teacher and 10 students for each school. This year, the Rotary Club of Gangtok chose 25 schools in East Sikkim and evaluated the teachers of these 25 schools.  The 25 outstanding teachers of these schools were awarded the Nation Builder Award by the Rotary Club of Gangtok after a brief citation presentation program of the Club with Joint Director East, Human Resources Development Department (HRDD), Govt. Posakay Primary School celebrates its decadal; a pride says HRDD Minister

SINGTAM, FEBRUARY 15 : RB Subba, Minister HRDD was of all praise for Posakay Primary School. In his words, Subba said schools across the state should get inspired from this small school. The school has been successfully bringing out best academic outcomes at the state level scholarships exams and making the department proud, added the Minister. Spiritual awareness programme at Chujachen Sr. Sec. School

PRESS RELEASE Keeping in view the degrading moral values among young generations, their involvements in drug abuse and increasing suicidal tendency a spiritual awareness programme was organised at Chujachen Sr. Sec. RONGLI, NOVEMBER 12: BAC Regu/ HRDD / East organised sub- division level programme at Rongli Bazar on National Education Day, the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, India’s first Education Minister on 11 th November 2011.
