Dipok Dey: first Indian to design a UN Stamp Design



This philatelic material holds a significant place in the history of Indian philately. Designed by Shri Dipok Dey, a renowned artist, philatelist, and journalist based in Kolkata, it marks the first time an Indian created a United Nations stamp. This stamp on Child Survival was issued on 22 November 1985 in the 33-cent denomination.

About the news of the resignation of my spouse, Smt. Krishna Kumari Rai, MLA of the 11-Namchi-Singithang Constituency, I wish to inform the dear and respected people of Sikkim that she has vacated her seat in alignment with the unanimous decision of the Party, prioritizing its welfare and objectives.

It is important to note that, at the request of the parliamentary committee of the SKM Party, she contested the elections for the welfare of our party. On behalf of our Party, as president, I express my sincere gratitude to her for her dedication and unwavering support.

East Point Senior Secondary School Golitar Celebrates World Environment Day with Engaging Activities

East Point Senior Secondary School, Golitar, celebrated World Environment Day with a series of activities to raise awareness about environmental conservation and sustainability. The celebration began with a skit during the morning assembly, intertwined with a song by Class XI students, emphasizing the importance of ecological conservation and individual responsibility. Following the skit, students participated in a "Best Out of Waste" project, showcasing their creativity by making useful items from waste materials. Awards were presented to students from junior, sub-junior, and senior categories by the respected Head Ma'am.




A plantation activity was also organized, where students and staff planted saplings around the school premises. The day concluded with a cleanliness drive, where students and teachers cleaned the school grounds and surrounding areas.
