A Gangtok court has acquitted former Sikkim forest minister Thukchuk Lachungpa of murder charge. He was arrested in connection with the murder of a youth at a place near Reykhola on May 14, 2000. He was arrested by the Sikkim Police and imprisoned for six months before he was released on bail by the Supreme Court in November 2000.
