Gangtok: The final of 9th Chief Minister Gold Cup Archery Tournament organized by Sikkim Archery Association was held on Sunday at Tathangchen Ground. Chief Minister Dr. Pawan Chamling was chief guest and Mr. P.S. Tamang, Sports and Youth Affairs Minister was guest of honour on the occasion.In the final, 30 Ranka defeated Kabi Lungchok by 31-30 point and was declared champion of the tournament. Chief Minister gave away the prizes to the competitors - Rs. 50,000 and Rs. 20,000 cash prize respectively for the winner and runners up teams and Rs. 10,000 as third prize which was bagged by Ranka Rai Gaon. Man of the match and man of the series awards were also given. Mr. Karma Tsheten Bhutia and Mr. Yawachi were given “Lifetime achievement award” and “Nerib Tshering memorial Award” respectively for their significant contribution in the field of archery in the state.
