State Award presented to 8 teachers

GANGTOK, September 5:
Eight government teachers working at various government schools were today conferred with State Awards on an occasion of State Level Teachers’ Day observed at Chintan Bhawan here today.
Chief Minister Pawan Chamling handed away the certificates, citation and a cash award of Rs 15,000 to the state winners. The teachers conferred with the state awards are Ashok Kumar Roka, Anuka Chettri, KT Bhutia, AB Subba, AK Rizal, Phuti Bhutia, Yangila Chingappa and Drupada Sharma.
Commendation certificates were also presented to Passang G Sherpa, TB Subba, Mriduiala Subba, RupMala Yonzon, Palden Lepcha, Pema Tshering Lepcha, NC Chakraborty, LC Gurung, Devika Lepcha, Kanarian Lepcha, Hari Prasad, Dilip Kumar Gurung, PL Sharma and AD Gosh.
Several schools were also felicitated on the occasion.
Mamring Senior Secondary School in East district bagged the Clean and Green school award for the clean and green school followed by Tumlong Upper Primary School in North District.
The awards were also presented to Pakisam Junior High School and Yuksom Secondary School from South and West district respectively.
Yuksom Secondary School had set up an herbal garden in the school premises a year back in collaboration with Victoria Junior School, Singapore, Khangchendzonga Conservation Committee with a proactive support from Roshan Subba, Pema Gyalsten Bhutia and the school team.
St Xaviers Pakyong, Little Flower Nursery (Mangan), St Mary’s Convent (Geyzing) and JNV Rabongla bagged the awards for the best performing private schools in the state.

  1. its a great post..himalayan review..you truely deserve appreciation for this post of yours..yup people its reaally a shame on all of us..we can remember the long difficult names of hollywood celebrities..we manage to mug up the names of korean star...wat about out history..our king and queen...our pride...please people..dnt be so negligent
