Singtam, 03/09/2018: The final audition of the open Talent Hunt Show comes to an end magnificently in Singtam. A total of 106 contestants participated in different categories like singing, dancing, beatbox, painting, acting, poem and short plays. Contestants were from different age groups with 5 years being the smallest among them. Apart from Singtam, there was participation from Guwahati (Assam), Jaigaon (West Bengal), Rongli, Regu, Pakyong, Tumin, Lingee, Sawney, Namcheybong, Martam, Namchi, Dalapchand, Duga, Makha, Temi Tarku, Nandok, Beyong, Majhitar, etc.
Out of 106 participants, 56 contestants qualified for the quarter-finals. The chief guest for the day was Dilip Kumar Pradhan, Chairman of IJC 2018 along with Shri T.B.Pradhan, Shawan Kr. Pradhan, President, Singtam Nagar Panchyat and C.P. Pradhan as special guests.
The second audition was held on 2nd September in Mini Hall, Manan Kendra at Gangtok. A total of 67 numbers contestants participated in different categories among which 43 contestants have qualified for the quarter-final, which is taking place in Gangtok itself on 8th September.
At the next level, a total of 115 numbers of participants have qualified from Soreng, Gangtok and Singtam and great competition of talents is expected on that day. “This was a platform SNGYA provided for everyone to showcase their talent and I am overwhelmed with the kind of response we got for these auditions,” said Shri Jeewan Pradhan, General Secretary, Indrajatra Celebration Committee 2018. He also thanked the teamṣ from Soreng, Gangtok and Singtam for their support to conduct the auditions.
Talent Hunt Show is organised by Sikkim Newar Guthi Youths Affairs in coordination with Inspire Academy on the occasion of the Indra Jatra festival which is scheduled to take place in Gangtok for the first time in a 3-day event from 21st September to 23rd September with the final day holding the Chariot procession of Kumari, the living goddess. Honourable Chief Minister of Sikkim has accepted the invitation of the chief guest for the day.
