04.09.2020 SINGTAM: A sanitization program was conducted today at different places of Shantinagar both upper and lower region. The sanitation programme was led by Krishna Chhetri, President, Shantinagar Gaon Sudhar Samiti and volunteered by Amber Pradhan who did the sanitization. Different areas that were covered included ATTC hostel along the lower belt till the church, touching all the stairways that are usually used by people to cross the walkway or the highway above. On the upper Shantinagar, the sanitization was done from ATTC road to Petrol Pump that included the premises of Shantinagar monastery also.
Different people had come together to help the initiative taken by Shantinagar Gaon Sudhar Samiti. Hissey Lama, Panchayat Inspector, BAC Khamdong provided PPE kit, KL Mintri, proprietor of Om Himalayan Medical shop gifted a sanitizing kit (spray machine) to our Samiti that was received by President himself today, other than that 3lt sanitizer was provided by Singtam Nagar Panchayat. Rest of the materials required that included gloves, 2lt sanitizer and wage to the volunteer were maintained by the Samiti. It should be noted that few covid 19 positive cases had been registered from Shantinagar in last two weeks.
