Sikkim Women Cricket defeats Bihar in a nail biting last ball

Bengaluru, 16th March 2021: The second win for Sikkim Women team in the Senior Women’sOne Day League came in a nail-biting match today at Alur Cricket Stadium II at Bengaluru, which was won by 2 wickets in the last ball of the innings. 

Sikkim won the toss and chose to field first. In the first innings, Bihar was all-out for 186 runs in 47.5 overs. Apurva Kumari scored the highest of 81 runs for the side. Sikkim built the pressure from the beginning and the opponent lost early wickets to Purni Maya Gurung, who took 2 important wickets in the first over of the innings. Captain Sarika Koli took 3 wickets for the side, Tabita Subba 2 wickets, Pranita Chettri and Shristi Rai 1 wicket each.  

In the second innings, thou Sikkim lost its opening batter early but the situation was well controlled by brilliant batting from Ranki Rajak, who scored 74 runs, followed by Sarika Koli scoring 45 runs, Purni Maya Gurung 21 runs, Tabita Subba 14 runs (not-out), Songkit Lhamu Lepcha 7 runs, Nandika Kumari 6 runs, Pranita Chettri 4 runs, Tshering Ongmu Lepcha 2 runs, and Shristi Rai was 1 run (not-out). At the end of the game the players showed a matured game sense and gave the strike to Tabita Subba who was a set batter at that moment and a complete team game was showcased, converting it to a win.
