Sikkim defeats Meghalaya In Cooch Behar Trophy

The Under 19 Men’s Team of Sikkim is currently playing Cooch Behar Trophy (multi-day tournament) and in their second match against Meghalaya, they won the match by 31 runs, earning 6 points.  



Meghalaya won the toss and choose to field first. In the first innings, Sikkim scored 172 runs where Roshan Prasad scored 41 runs, Ankur Malik 32, MD Arif 29, Purna Bdr Bhattrai 26, Tarun Sharma 21 and Arun Chettri 10 runs. In Meghalaya’s first innings they were all-out for 187 runs and were leading by 15 runs. Ankur Malik took 8 runs for the side.

In the second innings, Sikkim scored 141 runs and gave the target of 127 runs to win. Ankur scored 55 runs, MD Arif 30, Arun 17, and Tarun 14 runs. Chasing the target Meghalaya were all-out in 95 runs and lost the match to Sikkim by 31 runs. Bijay took 4 wickets, Ankur and Tarun took 3 wickets each.

Sikkim will be playing their next match against Nagaland at Vikash Cricket Ground, Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
