The senior team of Sikkim is currently playing Vijay Hazare Trophy (One Day Tournament) in Jaipur, Rajasthan. They will be playing five matches in the league round of the tournament and while playing their second match against Mizoram on 9th December at Jaipuria Vidhyalaya Ground, Jaipur, they won the match by 4 wickets.
Sikkim
won the toss and elected to field first. In the first innings, Mizoram scored
183 runs in 50 overs with the loss of 9 wickets. Karthik CA, Nitesh Kumar Gupta
and Sumit Singh took 3 wickets each and Kranthi Kumar and MD Saptula took 1
wicket each.
In
the second innings, Sikkim chased the target of 184 runs in 44.3 overs losing 6
wickets. They scored 185 runs of which Kranthi Kumar made 63 runs and remained
not-out with Palzor Tamang who scored 17 runs, Ashish Thapa made 29, Liyan Khan
21, Karthik CA 21, and Lee Yong Lepcha 21.
Sikkim played well with both bat and ball and all the players contributed equally for this win. They will be playing against Tripura next and the team is positively looking forward to it.
