Sikkim boy Jayant Dagar wins bronze at Asian Jr. Boxing Championship 2022

Jayant Dagar, a student of Kyi-De-Khang Sr. Sec. School, Gangtok wins a bronze medal in 54 kg Wt. Category in Asian Jr. Boxing Championship recently concluded in Amman's Capital, Jordan from 3rd March to 15 March 2022.



In the quarter-final bout, Jayant defeated Kyrgyzstan boxer, Pansher Aliahkmed by a narrow score of 3:2 points and confirmed Bronze Medal for India. In the semifinal, Jayant lost to Thai boxer Thanaphansakon Kalaseeram by 4-1, who went to win the gold.
Altogether 355 boxers from 21 nations attended the ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships in Amman. India, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, Palestine, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Syria, Tajikistan, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, and Yemen had sent their best talents to the ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships.
