Late night forest fire panicks Chujachen villagers
Yesterday late night i too was among those who succeeded in putting off the forest fire at Chujachen, Rongli. Though no news of human casualties was recorded but the late evening forest fire within 6-7 hours destroyed zinger crops and other crops in this village.
I have never seen Sikkim go without rain for so long, I think it has been 6 months since it last rained heavily. The dried up forest are like tinder box, accidents just waiting to happen. maybe the ill effects of global warming , we do desperately need the rain.
