By Seira Tamang As noted by various scholars, Hinduism, the Nepali language, the monarchy and a rastriya itihas (a chronicle of progress in which the dark era of Rana rule is contrasted with the enlightened, progressive and modern period of Panchayat rule) formed the core of the Panchayat regime’s national culture. The formation and consolidation of this national culture have required the expunging of uncomfortable facts and stories that might raise ambiguities and questions. While the selection of what and who is and is not acknowledged to exist (or at least exist in historically important ways) in official Nepali history is complex, social scientists have begun to provide more comprehensive historical accounts of the past through oral histories and re-readings of historical documents. Such accounts reveal how ordinary people lived in the past, and offer ways to think through how ‘history’ is crafted, shaped and managed in order to reflect ‘the reality’ best suited to the status quo, ...

The cloudy trails look like one normally caused by over-flight of a jet plane at very high altitude. Actually the No 2 Squdaron IAF with their Brand New Sukhoi 30 MKI has just been deployed to Tezpur in Assam in defence of the Eastern Part of India, and currently they must be doing a lot of flights all along their area of responsibility including Sikkim and AP, for area familiarization and evolving tactics and training. Hence, this could be the possible explanation for large number of sightings of aircraft, identified or otherwise. These are new high performance jets with more capabilities that previous gen aircraft lacked, hence the confusion regarding the sightings. In addition a large number of UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehciles) have been inducted into the Army and Airforce and while previously they were only deployed on the Pakistan border, now they are being increasing deployed on the Chinese border too, due to increasing threat perception, this also could be attributed to the UFO sighting being reported lately. The UAVs are particularly small, have a some shaped forward structure and fly low and are highly maneuverable, hence confusing them as UFOs could be quite normal. Just wanted to provide some plausible explanation, before people seriously start panicking or spreading rumors of Extra terrestrial sightings. I am not discounting them, but the explanations I have sighted above could be the case in reality as well.
ReplyDeleteHope I made some sense,

Small correction above, in the sentence, "The UAVs are particularly small, have a some shaped forward structure and fly low and are highly maneuverable" I meant dome shaped.
