Sikkim Philatelist wins Bronze in INPEX-2019



SINGTAM, December 22: Roshan Prasad from Singtam, Sikkim wins bronze in Literature class at INPEX-2019 (National Philatelic Exhibition) at World Trade Centre, Mumbai today.

The exhibition was organized by the Philatelic Congress of India from 18 to 22 December 2019 in collaboration with the Department of Posts, India. He is a popular philatelist with International recognition and is also the Treasurer of the Sikkim Philatelic & Numismatic Society. Over 250 participants from various states of India participated in the competition.

Prasad had participated in the Literature class of the exhibition with his book “The Stamp Collectors’ Dictionary”. The book was published by The Department of Posts, Sikkim Division last February during SIKKIMPEX-2019.  The book was published by the Department of Posts, Sikkim Division, Ministry of Communication, Government of India.

Roshan is known for his Cricket collections. He started writing this cricket dictionary in 2011 when he felt that there are so many words in Stamp Collection that new collectors should know and also there are many words that are still unknown to many senior collectors as well.  

He completed the book in 2016 in Dubai, UAE with over 450 words and abbreviations that are in common use among Stamp Collectors. The Postmaster General of North Bengal and Sikkim released the book at SIKKIMPEX 2019 at Gangtok.
