SGSS members donates blood

SINGTAM, DECEMBER 12: Eleven members of Shantinagar Gaon Sudhar Samiti donated blood at Blood Bank District Hospital Singtam on December 11. The blood donation program was done for the contribution towards the development of the society as mentioned at the Samiti’s memorandum. From the eleven individuals; two were women.

Prior to the start of the camp, Krishna Chettri, President, SGSS said our Samiti had always been committed for the up-liftment of the society. We being part of Singtam; the District Hospital of Singtam is our concern, any hour of time if our services are required, we Shantinagar Gaon Sudhar Samiti is always on your side, added Chettri. He also thanked the blood donors and other members of SGSS who had supported this special cause.

Those blood donors included - Krishna Chettri (AB -), Dhiraj Pradhan (B+), Abul Hayat (A+), Sishir Pradhan (A+), Suman Sunar (AB+) Bhusan Thapa (B+), Shikha Chettri (O+), Shiva Kr. Rai (A+), Gurmeet Singh (A+), Nikhil Sundas (O+) and Devika Lamichaney (A+).

Refreshments were provided to the donors by LN Pradhan, Chief Advisor and KN Dulal, Advisor. Also present on the occasion were members of SGSS - LN Pradhan, Tara Pradhan, Maiya Chettri, Rita Sherpa, Shanker Lamichaney, Deepa Chettri and Sakila Subba.

Through this press release, SGSS has thanked different officials of District Hospital Singtam including Dr Tempo Gyaltsen (CMO, East), Dr. Manoj Mishra (DMS), Dr Diki Wangmu Phempu (Blood Bank In-charge), Mr. Arjun Chettri, President  VBDAS, Singtam Unit, Srijana Chettri, General Secretary VBDAS Singtam Unit,  Mr DR  Dhakal (Sr. Technical Officer), Blood Bank Technicians for their valuable support.

Shapi of Sikkim: Our legacy - ii

It was my good fortune to have visited the Forest Department Office at Deorali this summer and met officials out there. I shall remain appreciative of Ongden Daju (RO) for an occasion when I bring in contact with higher officials of the Forest Department.
