Singtam Sakha Guthi Congratulates National Florence Nightingale 2023 Awardee Ambika Pradhan

23.07.23: Singtam: The executive members of Newa Bhay Bowneykuti, Singtam Sakha Guthi, gathered to extend their heartfelt congratulations to Meyju Ambika Pradhan on her remarkable achievement. The distinguished nurse was recently honoured with the prestigious National Florence Nightingale Award 2023, in recognition of her exceptional contributions to the field of healthcare. 



Led by Bhaju Gopal Pradhan, President of NBB, the executive team expressed their utmost pride in Meyju Ambika Pradhan's outstanding accomplishment. In a symbolic gesture of respect and admiration, she was presented with traditional khadas and also offered a beautifully crafted Buddha statue, symbolizing enlightenment and peace. Meyju. Ambika Pradhan humbly accepted the gestures and expressed her gratitude to the organization. 

Members of NBB said, her dedication to providing quality healthcare services and making a positive impact on the lives of numerous patients has been an inspiration to all. Every community in Sikkim takes immense pride in her exceptional achievements. Early Poets of Sikkim : Subhash Deepak

During the early two decades of the twentieth century young boys belonging to rich and aristocratic families including upper caste Brahmins were sent to Darjeeling or Benares for studies. These young boys naturally got an opportunity to encounter the new trends of awakening like the National movement of Indian Independence. The influence of great literary personalities like Lekhnath Poudyal (1884-1965), Lakshmi Prasad Devkota (1909-1965) and Balkrishna Sama (1902-1981) is very much evident on the poets associated with Apatan Sahitya Parishad . Snake like fish caught in Singtam River

The  Indian mottled eel,  locally known as Raj Bam,   was recovered from the Singtam River at Golitar this early morning.  The snake-like fish weighed around 7 kg and was four feet long. The local people said that they had never seen this species for so long. Such mysterious-looking marine fish are also sighted from time to time on the river banks, local people added.
