BSNL INCREASES BROADBAND FACILITY IN SIKKIM


Gangtok:, 8 February
BSNL has increased its broadband capacity in Gangtok by 480 new connections. General Manager, Shri S M Roy Choudhuri has said, broadband equipment has been commissioned at Pennagla, Ranipool and Mangan. Within a week broadband will be available at Nayabazar, Jorethang and Geyzing. Namchi will have broadband facility within 15 days. He added that speed of broadband has been enhanced to 8 mbps from 2 mbps.
Shri Choudhuri said, landline rates have been decreased beyond 50 kms within West Bengal Sikkim Circle . During 7 am to 10 pm it is 40 paise per minute while it is 30 paise per minute from 10 pm to 7 am .
Highlighting the Magic Voucher introduced by BSNL in December, 2007, Shri Choudhuri said, the Rs 89/- voucher has a validity of one month. Calls during the day from BSNL to BSNL 45 paise per minute while it is 30 paise per minute from 10 pm to 7 am . From BSNL a STD call to BSNL is Rs 1.30 paise per minute while Rs 1.80 to another network. With the Magic Card in the local network it is 80 paise per minute to another network while it is Rs 1.80 for STD to another network.
BSNL has also launched a new mobile scheme for which the SIM price is Rs 112 including tax. The validity is for 120 days ( four months ).
