Cold wave condition intensifies in Sikkim

GANGTOK: The cold wave condition in Sikkim further intensified with the minimum temperature plummeting to the season's lowest at two degree celsius today to paralyse normal life.

The minimum temperature which was 2.2 degree celsius yesterday dropped by 0.2 degree celsius this morning, while the maximum temperature also dropped sharply by six degree celsius to four, the Meteorological Office (Met) said.

No no sunshine was visible throughout the day as inclement weather conditions prevailed throughout the state, it said.

The cold wave condition would continue for the next few days, the Met said.
