All India Overland Cross Country Expedition team tours Goa, Mumbai & Daman

GANGTOK, March 02: After covering Goa, the team eight-member team from Sikkim Tourism Co-operative Society Limited undertaking 101 Days All India Overland Cross Country Expedition arrived in Mumbai on February 21.
The team met the General Manager, Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation Limited and presented the ‘Visit Sikkim T-Shirts and Hand Books.’ The team spent five days in Mumbai and performed road shows at various places in the city covering places like Chaupati and Juhu Beach, Marine Drive, Nariman point, Gateway of India, Essel world, Evershine Dream Park, Bandra Benstand Area, Inorbit and Raghulila shopping Mall.
On February 26, the team left from Daman, where they were welcomed by the District Collector of Daman, Vijay Anand. During their two day stay in Daman, the team did shows at Devika Beach, Jambhour Beach, Moti Daman, Nani Daman, after which they proceeded to Baroda. They also met the Director of Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Ltd in Baroda JL Solanki.
They were also welcomed by Head of Fine Arts, Malati Gaikwad at the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Vadodra, one of the largest Fine Art universities in Asia.
During their visit to the fine art exhibition centre, the team members also briefed the students regarding Buddhist Art and Architecture in Sikkim and further suggested the lecturers to visit Sikkim for their study tours.
The University, in the meantime showed keen interest to send their students in future.
The team left for Mount Abu on March 1, this year.
