AKRS felicitates Prashant Rasaily

GANGTOK, April 30: Gateway to Hollywood finalist, Prashant Rasaily was today felicitated by the youth wing of Akhil Sikkim Kirat Rai Sangh (AKRS) in a glittering function held here at the Press Club of Sikkim.
The 28-year-old director from Sikkim was felicitated for making his presence felt in the national television show, Gateway to Hollywood.
Prashant, who has earned rave reviews in his first work Myth, was presented with a felicitation letter and a khada offered by the president of the Sangh Ashit Rai. Other executive members of the Sangh were also present.
Placing his remark, the young director resented the Sikkimese society for the lack of interest in identifying hidden talents. “Our people have to develop a culture of honoring our own talents,” he said.
Citing an example of Bhaichung Bhutia, he said, “People die to have a glimpse of Bhaichung but our own people are least bothered when he is in the State, which is very depressing, yet discouraging.”
Acknowledging the love and respect shown towards him by the Sangh, the young director said he will continue bringing more laurels for the State through his works.
The general secretary of AKRS (Youth wing) Bimal Rai said the main idea to felicitate young talents like Prashant was to ignite spirits among the youngsters here.
The president of the youth wing Ashit Rai said the Sangh will leave no stone unturned in recognizing the talents who bring laurels to the State in the national front.
