18.03.2022, Singtam: The first-ever state-level Badminton tournament hosted by Singtam was officially inaugurated by Shri Rohitraj Maharaj, Advisor to the Chief Minister of Sikkim. The inaugural function was attended by Shri Suresh Tamang (President, Singtam Nagar Panchayat), Shri Dilip Tamang, SDPO, Rangpo, Smt. Sunita Gautam, (Chairperson, RMDD), Shri Kuber Bhandari (President, Sikkim Olympic Association) Olympian Shri Jas Lal Pradhan, and others.
More than 125 players from different parts of Sikkim, Darjeeling, Kalimpong, and Siliguri have participated in the 1st Singtam Open Badminton Tournament organized by Singtam Badminton Association, held at Indoor Sports Complex, Singtam. The three-day event has six doubles categories - men's doubles, mixed doubles, 35+ doubles, 40+ doubles, 45+ doubles, and 50+ doubles.
