SINGTAM, DECEMBER 18:   Swaminath Prasad, President, Sikkim Bihari Jagaran Manch inaugurated the New Heaven Dance Academy opposite of Vital Clinic at Rangpo on December 16. Age was never a problem for 32 year old Mrs. Tshering Lhmu Sherpa from Development Area, Gangtok when she thought of participating at the pageant competition organized by Dr. Aman Gandhi Film Production held at Hotel Metro Views, Karol Bagh, Delhi . As promised to her daughter, Ismita Rai she went on to win the competition and bagged two titles of Mrs Bharat Worldwide 2019 and Mrs Himalaya 2019.   Born to Norzang Sherpa and is Yanzee Sherpa, Tshering Lhmu Sherpa is a businesswoman and her interest lies in making pickles. Born to Hemant Rai and Tshering Lhmu Sherpa, Ismita Rai made the state of Sikkim proud when she won the double title of Miss Teen Himalaya Worldwide 2019 & Miss Teen Himalaya Global 2019 at a pageant competition held at Hotel Metro Views, Karol Bagh, Delhi. Student of Class X studying at Bahai’s School, Tadong; She resides at Developmental Area, Gangtok. Always interested in doing cosmetic makeover she says dancing is her main passion.   The beauty pageant happened all of a sudden and she wasn’t at all prepared for it. SINGTAM, NOVEMBER 25: Members of Alpine Philately and Numismatic Society (APNS), Darjeeling - Mrs. Nilema Yonzone, Mr. Anand Yonzone and students of North Point Academy, a school in Singamari, Darjeeling won 2 bronze medals and a Special School Collection Prize at the State Level Philatelic Competition WEBPEX ‘Ekla Chalo Re -2019’. The 6 days exhibition was held at the Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata from the 16th to the 21st of November 2019. The two Philatelists representing APNS won bronze medals with their thematic Philatelic exhibits titled ‘Woman Empowerment and ‘The Postal System’ under the single frame category. SINGTAM, NOVEMBER 21: Sikkim won two silver and three bronze medals at Ekla Cholo Re 2019, West Bengal State Philatelic exhibition held at Kolkata. The philatelic exhibition was held from November 16-22 at the Academy of Fine Arts, Maidan, Kolkata. Roshan Prasad and Sishir Pradhan won Silver for their exhibits ‘ The story of Cricket’ and ‘The World of Football’ . Ganesh Kumar Pradhan, Sunita Gurung, and Tanishka Pradhan won three bronze medals for their exhibits Philatelic Exhibition of India, Special Cover Issued in Sikkim, and Jawaharlal Nehru. Seven philatelists from Sikkim Philatelic and Numismatic Society had participated at the exhibition where five of them came with medals is a big achievement for Sikkim, told Shital Pradhan, Secretary SPNS in the press release.
