His second Javelin throw 87.58m gave India's first-ever track and field gold medal at the Olympics. I believe #PTUsha must be the most happiest person to rejoice on Neeraj's win.

The boys did it, a medal is coming back home after four decades. Congratulations  blue boys, you played an extraordinary game. Coming back from 1-3 and winning it with 5-4 needs a special performance. This bronze is priceless.

Indian women hockey goes down to Argentina 2-1; now faces Great Britain for Olympic bronze medal

A dream run for Indian Women's team also ended up with a loss to Argentina 2-1. They were not expected to reach this far yet, if you chase your dream nothing is impossible. Last couple of matches was nothing less than a fairy tale - flimsy type. As, i talked yesterday, this Olympic has given that transformation that people of India had again started to give their hearts to hockey. I congratulate #RaniRampal and her girls for making the nation pride. Best wises for the Bronze medal match. Interestingly, Argentina had defeated India in last Rio Olympic 5-0.

Indian men hockey gets defeated by Belgium 5-2; wins million's heart

So close and yet so far. Indian men hockey team went down fighting. They lost the match but won the heart. Indian hockey never had a chance in this Olympic. They seemed to be the shadow of the old hockey power house of the world. But after this Olympic, hockey shall not be the same in India. Thank You Boys for making us glue to the TV sets, you showed that India can compete with the best in the world. Today, Belgium defeated India 5-2 but hockey won. If you leave out the last quarter, the match was evenly fought. Even Bronze medal can be more sweeter than the gold. #bestwishes Interestingly, this is India's third consecutive loss to Belgium in the Olympics .

A proud moment for hockey in India. Indian Women's team creates history. They just outplayed the mighty Australian, the three-times Olympic gold medalists with one goal. Indian girls were splendid; they were magical. They now face Argentina in the semi final.

India's Sindhu wins badminton bronze after the previous Rio Silver

I consider this bronze medal, the best of the two medals PV Sindhu had received in the  Olympics . The Rio Silver medal, she had received after loosing a final but this bronze medal is very special, she earned it and she played like a champion and dominated the match from the opening point. Interestingly, this is India's third consecutive badminton medals at the  Olympics .  Congratulation  #PVSindhu , Congratulation  #badminton

India defeats Great Britain 3-1, enters Olympic semi final after 41 years

Indian Hockey team lived upto its expectation and entered the historic semi final after 41 years. They outplayed Great Britain 3-1. All the three goals came from a field goal must have given the team a big boast. Without any doubt, my hero of the match is goalie Sreejesh and the defense was excellent. Indian team had a better two quarters, the opponent team came back strong till the last few minutes of the game. In the under pressure match, the Indian boys pulled out the third goal and finishing off the match. Interestingly, Indian hockey team last entered the semi final at Olympic was in 1980 and they had won the gold medal. India meets Belgium in the next match.

India meets Australia at women's quarter final ; Vandana Kataria first Indian women to achieve hattrick at Olympic hockey

A very exciting and inspiring news for hockey fan. Its all about a winning momentum, both Indian men and women hockey teams are in the Quarter Finals. Indian Women defeated South Africa in their final pool match with a fantastic hattrick from Vandana Kataria. The Indian won the match with four goals to three. The match was closely fought with the score-line reading two goals each at the half time. The women team meets Australia in the quarter final, thou a tough team but when you are in a winning momentum nothing is impossible. # #phir_dil_do_hockey_ko

Hockey is the most sentimental sports in this cricket loving country of India. The boys are inching towards the podium finish, a winning habit matters the most. It provides positive vibes in the team gives you confidence, encouragement and momentum. Interestingly the Indian Hockey team has 10 Olympic debutants in the 16 member contingent.

There are many nations participating at the Tokyo Olympic still looking for one medal, athletes despite many appearances in the Olympics had failed to win any medals. Among them we have, An San, a 20 year old archer from South Korea becoming the first archer to win three gold medals in a single Olympic game. Soure : Japantimes.com San, making her first appearance in the Tokyo Olympics had won gold in individual event, women's event and the mixed team event. Interestingly, Korea has so far won every single gold medal available in archery at the Tokyo Olympics .

Magnificent Mary Kom bid farewell to Tokyo Olympic with tears

Legends do cry and when they do it... you too cannot hold it back.  The split-decision broke hearts of millions. Today was probably the last time we could see Magnificent Mary in the Olympics. You were graceful in the defeat, you played like a champion and you won our heart. When every Indian sits in-front of the TV set just to watch  MC Mary Kom  then you are truly a legend, the greatest ambassador of the game. Thank You for inspiring women boxing. You are a true champion and a legend forever.

When you are participating at the highest level no team is weaker, every nation sends it's best players. So, let's not say Spain team wasn't a match for India. The better team won on the day and it was India today. For the record, it was India's 7th win over Spain in 10 Olympic encounters; both the team last met in 2000 Sydney Olympic and India won the match 3-2.

They were leading 5-2 in the second set and still went on to lose the match in a dramatic turnaround. The final score read - 0-6 7-6(0) 10-8 in a tie-breaker instead of the third set.

Goalie Sreejesh helps India defeat New Zealand at 2020 Tokyo Olympic hockey opener

Indian Hockey men's team defeated New Zealand 3-2 in their first match today but it was more about the heart-aches for the last five minutes. All thanks to goalie Sreejesh, he made terrific saves towards the end. Source : Sportskeeda I was a big fan of Indian Hockey when players like Thoiba Singh, Pargat Singh, MM Somaya, Dhanraj Pillay, Dilip Tirkey, Mukesh Kumar and our own neighbour Bharat Chettri were playing for the nation.
