21.07.24:  The Annual General Meeting of Newa Bhay Bowneykuthi (NBB) was held today at the Nepali Sangathan Office premises at Lal Bazaar Complex, Singtam. The meeting saw the nomination of a new executive body headed by Bhaju Binod Pradhan as the President. Bhaju Gopal Pradhan, the outgoing President of NBB, Singtam Sakha, presented the annual report of his two-year tenure. He extended his best wishes to the new team and expressed his and his team's support for strengthening the organization. Bhaju Mahendra Pradhan, President of Sikkim Newar Guthi, chaired the meeting. In his speech, he congratulated the new team and shared updates on the activities of Sikkim Newar Guthi. G angtok : Sikkim Newar Guthi extended heartfelt congratulations to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Sikkim, Shri P.S. Golay, for being awarded the prestigious “Gorkha Gaurav Samman Award,” bestowed by Himalayan Darpan, the leading Nepali Gorkha daily newspaper in India. They also felicitated Shri (Bhaju) N. B. September 28, 2023 : A program was held at the office of the Singtam Government Retired Employees Welfare Association, Singtam branch, where two students from the Singtam Newar Guthi were awarded an Annual Meritorious Educational Grant 2023 .  The recipients were Meyju Anamika Pradhan and Meyju Anusha Pradhan , both enrolled at Singtam Senior Secondary School in Class 4 and Class 10 respectively. This grant aims to support the students in their studies. Advisors Bhaju LN Pradhan and Bhaju Bharat Pradhan sponsored the grant. 23.09.23: Sikkim Newar Guthi has spearheaded a ground breaking movement called the " Newar Madhumaha Shradhanjali Programme-2023 " (in Newar Language : BIBHA WAHKA DHEKU ). The program aims to stand-in connections, offer solace, share grief, and provide financial assistance to bereaved Newar families during times of loss. Sikkim Newar Guthi hopes to bring about a sense of unity among each and every member of the community and instill a sense of belonging to the Newars of Sikkim by being there in times of hardship. The Dream project envisaged by Sikkim Newar Guthi (SNG) under the able leadership of Bhaju Nirmal Kumar Pradhan , the President of SNG was conceived a year before i.e 2022. 10.09.23, Singtam - The town of Rongli came alive with the spirited participation of Newar communities from various corners of Sikkim in the joyous Bhimsen Puja and Jatra festivities. The event, marked by exuberance and cultural fervor, witnessed a procession of Newar community members clad in traditional attire, dancing joyfully with Lakhey dancers from Bhimsen Mandir to the Melatar Community Hall in Rongli. The event was organized by Shri Bhimsen Maharaj Mandir Sanrakshan Samiti, Rongli, and supported by Newa Passa, newar organization from Rongli.  The second phase of the program, held at the Community Hall, featured a series of cultural performances and a felicitation ceremony. Gangtok, 16/08/2023: “Indrajatra” the biggest festival for the “Newar” community is celebrated with great enthusiasm in the State every year. This year, the celebration would be eight days long Kumari Puja with three days of various activities and programmes. The Celebrations are to be organised with great pomp and glory in the State capital, Gangtok from 22nd to 29th September 2023.  A high-level coordination meeting was held at Newar Bhawan, Sichey, Gangtok on 16th August 2023 to finalise the programmes and events. Gangtok, Sikkim - The National Institute of Newar Language and Culture (NINLC) proudly presented the successful culmination of its first batch of students with a vibrant cultural event held at Manan Kedra on 24th June 2023. (Retd) Jas Lal Pradhan for announcement of Establishment of a Boxing Academy in his name by Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri P.S. Golay (Tamang) at 6th Youth Men’s National Boxing Championship 2023 held at Indoor hall, Palzor Stadium Gangtok.  Words cannot even express our thanks, but Sikkim Newar Guthi is so grateful and sincerely expresses deepest gratitude to the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Sikkim Shri P.S.Golay for establishing a boxing academy in the name of Shri Jas Lal Pradhan.

12.08.22: Jighu Saa, an annual magazine of Newa Bhay Bownekykuthi, Singtam Sakha Guthi was officially released at the Kwati Punhi Festival at Nepali Dharalsala, Singtam. Probably, one of the first annual magazines of a Sakha Guthi in Sikkim.   The magazine documents all the activities carried out by the organisation in the last four years. Starting the journey with classes for Newar language speaking and learning, traditional dance and recipe cooking class to supporting community causes like blood donation, green mission, assistance for fire victims, financial support to Newar Bhawan, short films and natural calamities to extending Meritorious Educational Grant to the members and finally establishing a newar mandir, are all part of the publication.

26.06.22: Members of Newa Bhay Bowneykutti, Singtam Sakha Guthi held a meeting cum membership renewal program at Nepali Dharamsala. Bhaju Mahendra Pradhan, Vice President, Sikkim Newar Guthi and Advisor, NBB was the chairperson of the program. The highlight of the meeting was sharing of the plans of the organisation, the extension of executive members and the distribution of work for the forthcoming coordination meeting between the Executive Members of Sikkim Newar Guthi and twenty-three Sakha Guthi from different parts of Sikkim.
