SpiceJet, the only carrier flight in Sikkim suspend operations

SpiceJet, the only carrier flight in Sikkim's Pakyong, has decided to suspend operations in Sikkim from October 30 due to "operational constraints", reports the PTI news. Further, the airline spokesperson had said,  bad weather and low visibility were bottlenecks that had led to operational constraints. Pakyong airport is India's 100th airport inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi in 2018 and is the only airport in the state of Sikkim. At a height of 4646 feet, it is one of India's highest airports.

After Dendrobium Atal Bihari Vajpayee, its turned for Cymbidium NaMo , an orchid hybrid variety in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. PM Modi on his first visit as the Prime Minister of Sikkim was honoured with an Orchid name at Gangtok on January 18. Nirmal Mangar, my good journalist friend shares his anecdotes meeting with Prime Minister Modi. He was among the Sikkim Journalist Team that got an opportunity to witness the proceedings of parliament at New Delhi last year.  Nirmal Mangar in his facebook status writes.... " It was last monsoon, I got an opportunity to meet the man of India in Parliament House, I felt pompous and happy to thank him on mentioning Sikkim's organic mission in both the parliaments ( of India and Nepal) also not to forget his Germany visit. I still have a strong memory of him telling ' Main January mein Sikkim aunga (I will come to Sikkim on January) and will declare your state as the first in the country to adopt organic farming ' Finally, the great moment has arrived." Truely a great moment has arrived, we all Sikkimese is awaiting this big moment when PM Modi will declare Sikkim as the fully Organic State.

Reshma Subba returns from “Celebration of Excellence” event

SINGTAM, AUGUST 24 : Reshma Subba,  the  resident of Ahaley Namthang, South Sikkim, has returned from New Delhi after participating in the “Celebration of Excellence” event that was held during the Independence Day celebration.  Subba and four students from Sikkim participated in the grand event, which involved students from different corners of the country.   All the students had received a Certificate of Excellence and a certificate of Prime Minister's letter. Reshma Subba has extended her gratitude to the Prime Minister of India, Minister, HRDD, Government of India, Chief Minister of Sikkim, HRDD, Government of Sikkim, and CBSE Board. SINGTAM, AUGUST 9:   Reshma Subba, resident of Ahaley Namthang, South Sikkim is leaving to New Delhi on August 10 on three day visit to participate at an event “Celebration of Excellence” to be held on the eve of the Independence Day 2014. She will also be among students from different corners of the country to be present at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Speech at Red Fort on August 15. An email received by Reshma Subba reads, she had been selected for the participation in the celebration of excellence. Other programs includes visit to historical places on August 13, felicitation function of e-book “Hamara Dharohar, Hamara Sapna” at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi the next day and participation in the Independence Day at Red Fort. Reshma Subba is the daughter of Dharma Raj Subba and Manju Subba. She was a Horticulture Student at Namthang SSS and had passed out her Class XII exams in 2014.
