SINGTAM: NT Bhutia, Headmaster of Burung Primary School along with his other school staffs paid tribute to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minster of India on his 120 th birth anniversary. A small function was organised that was followed by distribution of sweets and meal among the students at the school premises.    The day started with the lightening of the diya and the offering of a khada to the frame of Pandit Nehru.  NT Bhutia while addressing to the students spoke of the significance of the day and the fond relation that Pandit Nehru had with the children.  Uttam Siwakoti, the senior teacher of the school in his speech gave a brief outline of Pandit Nehru. JANUKA SHARMA Gangtok: An office of All Sikkim Students Union (ASSU) was inaugurated by Mr. Bimal Dawari, East Zilla Adhyaksha and chief guest at Tadong near Sikkim Government College on Friday. Mr. G.M.Gurung, a social worker of Tadong was guest of honour. Mr. Dawari said, students have an important role in the society to make it better living. He appreciated the work of ASSU and encouraged the organization to work selflessly for the welfare of the student.
