Sikkim schools to open with classes 9 to 12 with covid safety standards

  Preparations have been made to operate schools in Sikkim which have been closed for a long time due to the epidemic. The Department of Education has today issued a departmental circular regarding the normal operation of classes 9 to 12 from September 6. Instructions have been issued to the schools through this circular to operate the schools following the health standards related to COVID. After many months, all the people of Sikkim are waiting to hear the melodious sound of the school bell again.

Service to Mankind provides Sai Protein, Kwati and Ayush tablets at covid pandemic time

Service to Mankind is one such organisation that's really doing wonder at this pandemic time in our state. Its members are visiting the Covid patients, elderly people and sick people; providing them with Sai Protein, Kwati and Ayush tablets. Recently they were felicitated by the Governor of Sikkim for their generous work. Thanks to Bikash Pradhan and Sujeet Joshi who had initiated the thought and today this is a state level organisation. Here at Singtam, my home town we have Krishna Chettri , our own President of Shantinagar Gaon Sudhar Samiti who had been given the additional responsibility of Singtam Coordinator - Service to Mankind. He is doing the service to the society within his own personal efforts. Many many warm congratulations to people like him and other members of Service to Mankind, if we have a desire nothing is impossible.

First death anniversary of Sikkim's first covid death victim

26.07.21: It was today, the last year when our dear Ghanashyam Pradhan Sikkim Dhaba of Rongli more popularly known as GS Sir to his friends and students left us. His life was an inspiration; aspiring and motivational. He was Sikkim's first covid victim and in the last one year, our state has lost 331 of it's people. I pay my tribute to all the souls who passed away in this one year that was the most difficult phase the world had witnessed. His first year of death tithi falls on August 14, 2021. Acharya Keshav Khanal returns from performing funeral rites of 80 covid 19 astis at Farakha

  26.06.21 : Members of Shantingar Gaon Sudhar Samiti welcomed Acharya Keshav Khanal who was returning from Farakha after doing funeral rites of 80 asthis. He had been doing the funeral rites of covid victims without any financial benefits since the first covid death at Jalipool crematorium. It is his free service to humanity. He is from Aho, East Sikkim and Secretary of Hindu Swabhiman, Sikkim Branch.

17.04.21:  SICA President  Lobzang G Tenzing comes up in support of the Government of Sikkim during this hour of Covid Vaccination drive. Members of SICA provided lunch to the staff and officials at STNM Sochyagang and at Palzor Stadium. These lunches shall be provided at both venues till the end of this vaccination program.

SGSS sanitizes Shantinagar

04.09.2020 SINGTAM: A sanitization program was conducted today at different places of Shantinagar both upper and lower region. The sanitation programme was led by Krishna Chhetri, President, Shantinagar Gaon Sudhar Samiti and volunteered by Amber Pradhan who did the sanitization. Different areas that were covered included ATTC hostel along the lower belt till the church, touching all the stairways that are usually used by people to cross the walkway or the highway above. On the upper Shantinagar, the sanitization was done from ATTC road to Petrol Pump that included the premises of Shantinagar monastery also.  Different people had come together to help the initiative taken by Shantinagar Gaon Sudhar Samiti. Social activist Rudra Narsing Sakya donates hygiene kits

Rongli , 24th May 2020 : Social activist Rudra Narsing Sakya from Rongli Bazar today presented four set of PPE kits , two bottles of hand sanitizer, eleven numbers of N95 mask s and two numbers of Non-Contract Forehead Infrared Thermometers to different officials of Rongli. The presentation of these materials was done at the premises of Rongli Police Station, maintaining social distancing in presence of PR Dulal , SDM , Rongli Sub-Division. The materials donated the officials included – Bhim Pradhan (BDO, Regu BAC), Dr. T. N. Sherpa (Medical Officer Incharge, Rongli PHC), Tashi C. Chujachen Sports Academy gives services for the Covid cause

RONGLI, MAY 4 : Chujachen Sports Academy (CSA) too joined hands with rest of the social organisations from different part of the state in serving the society throughout the ongoing lock down phases. Since April 10, the members of CSA had been serving around 120 plates of Lunch and snacks to different sections of the people who are fighting against the Covid 19 pandemic.  Biren Gurung, General Secretary of CSA told that the organisation is committed for the social cause and shall serve the society till the lockdown ends. Each day members of CSA reaches to the offices of Rongli PHC, Rongli Police Station, SDM, Food & Supply, Central Bank of India, SISCO and State Bank of Sikkim. They also provided foods for the daily wage labours and vegetable vendors, reads the press release.  Chujachen Sports Academy was formed in 2014 and had been providing platforms for young and budding players in different sporting fields of the region.

APNS met bankers and acknowledged them

SINGTAM, APRIL 30: Singamari, a Darjeeling-based hobby-promoting organization, Alpine Philatelic and Numismatic Society (APNS) set out their second phase of appreciating the Covid-19 warriors. With the motive of thanking the unsung warriors of the current situation, they met and acknowledged the Bankers and the Banking Sector on the 28 th  of April 2020. The backbone of any economy – the BANKS has been functional throughout the lockdown. APNS visited the UCO Bank, Bank of India, and Allahabad Bank in Darjeeling and thanked them for their services. APNS felicitates Darjeeling COVID19 warriors

SINGTAM, APRIL 23: Alpine Philatelic and Numismatic Society (APNS), Darjeeling felicitated the members of the Darjeeling Press Guild, Singamari Town Out-Post, and the General Post Office, Darjeeling on April 22, 2020. The society offered khadas, tokens of gratitude, gloves, hand sanitizers, and masks to express their gratitude for the dedicated service provided by the Police Department, Postal Service, and the Print and Electronic media. SIKKIM THIS WEEK (APRIL 13 - APRIL 18)

APRIL 13 DZULUK : The Forest department had issued eviction notices to 84 families in Dzuluk near Changu, East Sikkim for alleged encroaching of the forest land. The notice mentioned that the families had made illegal houses in the area. Further, the notice issued on April 7 reads the removal of houses in the next 15 days. file pic RANGPO : Officials of the Animal Husbandry Department, members of Rangpo Nagar Panchayat, and Rangpo Police visited meat stalls at Rangpo and Majhitar. Most of the meat stalls were found unhygienic and cleanliness was not maintained. The owners of the stalls were given orders to close down their shops for three days and maintain proper hygienic surroundings.
