SGSS members donates blood

SINGTAM, DECEMBER 12: Eleven members of Shantinagar Gaon Sudhar Samiti donated blood at Blood Bank District Hospital Singtam on December 11. The blood donation program was done for the contribution towards the development of the society as mentioned at the Samiti’s memorandum. From the eleven individuals; two were women. Prior to the start of the camp, Krishna Chettri , President, SGSS said our Samiti had always been committed for the up-liftment of the society. We being part of Singtam ; the District Hospital of Singtam is our concern, any hour of time if our services are required, we Shantinagar Gaon Sudhar Samiti is always on your side, added Chettri. He also thanked the blood donors and other members of SGSS who had supported this special cause. Singtam Newar Sakha organises Blood Donation at District Hospital

SINGTAM, JUNE 1 : Members of Newa Bhay Bowneykuthi, Singtam Sakha under Sikkim Newar Guthi conducted a one-day blood donation camp at District Hospital Singtam. Twelve individuals both male and female participated in the donation camp.   Popular cine star Uttam Pradhan, a member of NBB also visited the hospital to encourage the noble cause. Speaking on the occasion, Binod Pradhan, President of NBB said, we had been talking with the hospital management regarding the necessity of blood and it was an appropriate time for us also to help them at this need of the hour. The hospital authority had requested the members to remain on standby for the next blood donation camp to be held at District Hospital Singtam on June 5 (Friday) as such only 12 members contributed the blood donation, today. SIKKIM THIS WEEK (APRIL 13 - APRIL 18)

APRIL 13 DZULUK : The Forest department had issued eviction notices to 84 families in Dzuluk near Changu, East Sikkim for alleged encroaching of the forest land. The notice mentioned that the families had made illegal houses in the area. Most of the meat stalls were found unhygienic and cleanliness was not maintained. 73RD ID celebrated at Shantinagar

SINGTAM, AUGUST 15 : Shantinagar Gaon Sudhar Samiti celebrated the 73 rd Independence Day with joy and enthusiasm.   The highlight of the day was felicitation of nine individuals in and around Singtam on fields like service towards national/state, sports, health and social service. LP Chettri, retired Divisional Engineer, Power Department, Government of Sikkim was the Chief Guest of the occasion. Deepa Chettri, Shantinagar Panchayat and Deu Kri. Speaker Das inagurates Blood Bank at District Hospital Singtam

Singtam, August 05: District Hospital Singtam had its first blood bank today inaugurated by Speaker LB Das in presence of Dr. MK Sharma, Area MLA & Health Minister. The program was attended by Officials from Health Department, head of schools, members of Voluntary Blood Donars Association of Sikkim, Sikkim Unit and other social workers. Chief Guest and other guests visited the new building and congratulated the B lood Bank Department. VBDAS is working on voluntary blood donation movement since 2008 mostly motivation, donation camp and fulfill the requirements through the voluntary blood doors. Keeping the fact of blood shortage in our blood bank VBDAS is working tirelessly to create a strong network of blood donors throughout the state and national wide.
