SHANTINAGAR : Shantinagar Gaon Sudhar Samiti celebrated the 150th Gandhi Jayanti by conducting cleanliness drive near Badminton court along Ranikhola walkway and National Highway 10 at Shantinagar, Singtam. Chief Advisor, L. N. Pradhan lighted the lamp and addressed the gathered crowd about importance of maintaining hygiene and cleanliness around our surroundings. Krishna Chettri, President, SGSS thanked everyone for coming and being part of the drive and appealed everyone to keep our place clean and green. Presents on the day were advisors T. B. Pradhan, L. TINEK, EAST SIKKIM Tinek Kalyan Sangh celebrated the 149 th  Gandhi Jayanti Celebration in a colourful way. The program started with the offering of prayers at the Singha Devi Mandir by the members of the society. The program started with the offering of khadas to the Chief Guests and other distinguished guests. A national song was sung on the occasion. Pushpa Kumar Pradhan gave the welcome speech while Srijana Rai spoke about the life of Gandhiji before the crowds.  Anisha Shanker recited two Nepali poems on the occasion. Keshav Chettri was the host of the day. Hom Kumari Pradhan, a member of ASHA shared information regarding the spread and precautions of dengue before the gathered audience.
