14 YEAR OLD RAPES 7 YEAR OLD

NAMCHI, November 15: At least three rape cases against minors have been registered in just one week. Another rape case has been registered at Namchi Police Station against a 14-year old boy from Kazitar here on the compliant from the father of the victim. On November 13, a seven year old minor girl was sexually assaulted by the boy who happened to be her neighbour. Immediately after the complaint was lodged, the Namchi Police arrested the accused. Today, the boy was produced before the CJM Namchi, South Sikkim. Being a minor himself, the accused was later sent for remand at the Juvenile home in Gangtok.

Four rapists arrested by Police at Sadam

-Namchi : Four persons have been arrested by the Police in connection with the rape case after they have been alleged to have raped a girl at Tareybhir premises, Sadam South Sikkim. The incident took place in the night of June 13. The Gram Panchayat Secretary N.B. Pradhan made a complaint to the police when he saw the four persons chasing a girl half naked and screaming. The four accused included Prakash Tamang(16 years), Damber Thapa (32 years), Dharma Raj Darji( 23 years), and Arun Tamang who have been booked under section 376/34 of IPC act.
