  Singtam, August 31: Executive members of Sikkim Government Retired Employees Welfare Association, Singtam Branch held a meeting at the residence of Shri LN Pradhan to discuss different matters of importance of the association. Shri TB Pradhan, President, SGREWA, Singtam Branch was the chairperson of the meeting. A proposed general meeting on September 30, 2021, at Nepali Dharamsala was decided. Membership drive for the newly retired individuals and selection of new executive members to be done at the general meeting was passed on. The General Secretary of the Sikkim Government Retired Employees Welfare Association shall also be invited to attend the meeting. Besides, it was decided to request the government set up a dialysis unit at District hospital Singtam. It was also discussed to hold a health camp for the members particularly on cardiology in consultation with the Hon’ble Health Minister and Dr. DP Rai, Head of Cardiology Department on the month of October.  ...

SINGTAM, AUGUST: Shantinagar Gaon Sudhar Samiti celebrated Nepali Bhasa Diwas with a plantation drive, poetry and talks on the development of the Nepali language. The celebration was organised in two phases, the morning phase had Ashoka saplings being planted around the Badminton Court, near Rani Khola Walkway, Shantinagar. More than two dozen saplings were planted by the members of the Shantinagar Gaon Sudhar Samiti. Krishna Chettri, President of SGSS led the plantation drive. Those saplings were gifted by Madan Tamang, Singtam. The second phase program was held at the premises of LN Pradhan (Chief Advisor, SGSS)’s residence at Shantinagar including poetry recitation and talks on the development of the Nepali language. SINGTAM, NOVEMBER 19 : Quarterly meeting of Sikkim Government Retired Employees Welfare Association, Singtam Branch was held at Nepali Dharamsala, Singtam. On the occasion, two senior retired persons were felicitated on the day for their contribution towards the society even after their respective retirements. Netra Prasad Dahal, former employee of Power Department had been retired for the last 28 years while Smt.Indra Basnet had retired 18 years back from Health Department.  Sawan Kumar Pradhan, President, Singtam Nagar Panchayat was the Chief Guest of the day. Pradhan handed over the appreciation letters to the awardees. TB Pradhan, President SGREWA, Singtam Branch was the host of the day. SINGTAM, JULY 29:  Singtam Basibiyalo made a special appearance during the inauguration of the new school building of Sumin Mangthang JHS on July 28. BB Rai, Area MLA Namcheybong Constituency  inaugurated the new building while other guests included Puran Gurung, Chairman Denzong Agricultural Co-Operative Society, Sonam Dezongpa, Joint Director, HRDD and others. Highlight of the day was inauguration of the school building along with felicitation program, cultural program and a football match. SINGTAM, SEPTEMBER 25: In a small gathering at Singtam, Dinesh Dahal and Nimesh Dahal participants of ‘Himali Pratibha ko Khoj’ were congratulated by the members of Singtam Basibiyalo. The D ahal brothers had participated in the recently concluded state-level ‘Himali Pratibha ko Khoj’ in a separate category where Dinesh Dahal stood fourth in the singing category while Nimesh Dahal, his younger brother went on to bag the third position in the instrumental category.
