Govt. Sec. School Lingtam, East Sikkim Under BAC Regu observed ‘World Environment Day’ on 5 th June at the School. In the beginning of the programme Headmaster, Dorjee Sherpa highlighted the importance of the day in his speech. Green teacher of the school, Shyam Kumar Shah informed the students about the importance of environment. CRC Coordinator Krishna Pd. Dawari told the students to be proactive when it comes to forest and trees. “To protect environment is the duty of every citizen’’, he added. Headmaster Dorjee Sherpa handed over a cash prize of rupees ten thousand to Class X, CBSE School topper 2012, Anurag Subba who obtained 86.5% in aggregate. The prize was sponsored by Phurba Tamang, SMC member of the School.
