Sikkim wins top three awards at North East Prag Cine Award

Sikkim’s Film “Anmol Tshan-A Christmas in September” produced by Kishor Dungmali Rai had won the 3 Awards which includes NE Best Feature Film, NE Best Actor (Female) and NE Best Actor (Male) in North East Prag Cine Award 2015 held at Dibrugarh, Assam. NE Best Actor (Female) Sneha Rai, a product of TNA and Mount Hermon School is a debutant actor, received huge round of applause from the jury for her act. Her performances were already applauded by viewers of Sikkim and South Asian Countries during the premiere show of the movie.   Likewise NE Best Actor (Male) Shalom Kabo a famous actor from the hills who hails from Kalimpong also got huge appreciation. Kabo had already bagful of hit films viz. Naya Goreto, Baardan and many more and widely known in different countries among Nepali speaking communities. On 31 st Dec , 2011, the book, The First Step, Pahilo Paila poetry book was realized by Kumar Subba, Chairman Dimapur Gorkha Union at Bamunphukuri . in his speech he asserted that the young youths should pose good literary works. Rupak himself highlighted the Difficulties of the Gorkha community in the North East Area Especially Dimapur, through the means of his write-ups in Gorkha magazines, Blogs, and Newspapers. H e is Associated with  Bureau Chief for Sapparivar and Gorkha Times. He devoted his time to doing communal jobs in the fields of Social  Work and when I describe his poems, I must say he is doing good with vision. Meet and Greet Bijay Bantawa in Guwahati

Shiva Thapa feliciated by Mumbai Boxing Association

Shiva Thapa, a junior world number two boxer from Assam, India  was  felicitated in Mumbai Boxing Association at Mumbai on November 22. Shiva is leaving for Baku to participate in A.A.Argalov Cup International to be held on December 2 to 8,  2009. He will fight in 54 kg bout.

AAGSU torch rally in memorium of Bhimajuli massacre

  Nanda Kirati Dewan, Guwahati 14 th Oct. Guwahati: The All Assam Gorkha Students’ Union (AAGSU) the apex students’ body of Gorkhas of Assam last evening took out a mass candle light torch rally today in memory of the Bhimajuli killings and prayers for speed recovery of those injured in the violence through out Assam . In the capital city Guwahati the Kamrup Dist. Committee along with the office bearers of AAGSU central committee took to street with candle in hands at 6pm from the historic Nepali Mandir premises. Flagging off the rally by lighting a earthen lamp and offering prayers to all the deceased and injured Dil Bahadur Limboo President; AAGSU condemned the most inhuman act of violence in Bhimajuli that claimed as many as 14 lives that left some hundred in feared state of mind when National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) militants indiscriminately fired on houses of the people on 4 th Oct 2009 Sunday.
