New Heaven Dance Institute, Singtam, East Sikkim is all set to come with state-level dance competition “Sikkim Dance Ka Maha Mukabla” to nurture the local promising talents within the state to the national level under the banner of Red Panda Rover Crew, Singtam. “Sikkim Dance Ka Maha Mukabla” is to begin on June 10, 2010, at Gorkha Dharamsala, Singtam. The dance competition shall feature junior and senior groups. The junior dance competition shall have participants below 14 years and feature solo dance while for the senior category, the competition participants should be above 14-24 years and they have to compete in a group dance. A group dance category shall feature 9 participants.  Winners of the Junior Category shall be rewarded with Rs 10,000 while the first runner-up shall be presented with Rs 5,000 along with trophies and certificates respectively. Akkar Bridge at Jorethang , South Sikkim that flows over Rangit River is the India's first Cable-stayed concrete bridge. Designed by Bergermann and Partner, Stuttgart was completed in 1989.  Materials used are steel for cables and concrete in rest of the structure. Its length spans 2 x 77 m, deck width 11.10 m and its pylon height 54.60 m.    

I was present on the occasion that was graced by Dr. Pawan Kumar Chamling, Chief Minister of Sikkim. The State Level Teachers Convention on Quality Education at Jorethang ground was organized by State Level Teachers Convention Coordination Committee (SLTCC). The occasion was to felicitate CM by SLTCC for his genuine effort for the exemption of Central Income Tax and for bringing University in Sikkim . More than 5000 teachers from all four districts were present on the occasion. Talks on qualitative education in school and colleges were all discussed.
