Singtam Newar Sakha Honours Anamika and Ayusha Pradhan with Educational Grant

September 28, 2023 : A program was held at the office of the Singtam Government Retired Employees Welfare Association, Singtam branch, where two students from the Singtam Newar Guthi were awarded an Annual Meritorious Educational Grant 2023 .  The recipients were Meyju Anamika Pradhan and Meyju Anusha Pradhan , both enrolled at Singtam Senior Secondary School in Class 4 and Class 10 respectively. This grant aims to support the students in their studies. Advisors Bhaju LN Pradhan and Bhaju Bharat Pradhan sponsored the grant. The presentation took place in the presence of Bhaju Gopal Pradhan , President, Bhaju Manoj Pradhan , General Secretary, Bhaju Suresh Pradhan , Advisor, Bhaju Binod Pradhan , Former President, ( Newa Bhay Bowneykuthi , Singtam Sakha ), as well as the parents, guardians of the recipient students, and members of NBB . APNS met bankers and acknowledged them

SINGTAM, APRIL 30: Singamari, a Darjeeling-based hobby-promoting organization, Alpine Philatelic and Numismatic Society (APNS) set out their second phase of appreciating the Covid-19 warriors. With the motive of thanking the unsung warriors of the current situation, they met and acknowledged the Bankers and the Banking Sector on the 28 th  of April 2020. The backbone of any economy – the BANKS has been functional throughout the lockdown. APNS visited the UCO Bank, Bank of India, and Allahabad Bank in Darjeeling and thanked them for their services. APNS felicitates Darjeeling COVID19 warriors

SINGTAM, APRIL 23: Alpine Philatelic and Numismatic Society (APNS), Darjeeling felicitated the members of the Darjeeling Press Guild, Singamari Town Out-Post, and the General Post Office, Darjeeling on April 22, 2020. The society offered khadas, tokens of gratitude, gloves, hand sanitizers, and masks to express their gratitude for the dedicated service provided by the Police Department, Postal Service, and the Print and Electronic media. The APNS team led by the Secretary thanked the Officer in charge SI Mitra Dewan and his team at the Singamari Town Outpost for their strict vigilance and maintenance of Law and Order. Rotary Club of Gangtok Confers Nation Builder Awards 2017 to Teachers

Engineers build bridges, Doctors save lives, and Police ensure law & order, but the teacher builds all of them; in that sense, they are the true Nation Builders. Acknowledging the efforts of the teachers, who are the True Nation Builders, is crucial. Rotary India Literacy Mission's Nation Builder Award recognizes one outstanding teacher from a school through an evaluation process that involves the participation of the Principal/ Head Teacher and 10 students for each school. This year, the Rotary Club of Gangtok chose 25 schools in East Sikkim and evaluated the teachers of these 25 schools.  The 25 outstanding teachers of these schools were awarded the Nation Builder Award by the Rotary Club of Gangtok after a brief citation presentation program of the Club with Joint Director East, Human Resources Development Department (HRDD), Govt. 'Parcel' attracts its audience; felicitation program also held

SINGTAM, MARCH 9: On March 8, 2017, a special screening of the Nepali feature film Parcel was held at ATTC Hall, Burdang. More than twenty personalities from different fields in Singtam and beyond were felicitated.    Tilu Gurung, MLA Rateypani, was the Chief Guest of the evening. Other distinguished guests included Gopal Baraily - MLA West Pandam, Shyam Pradhan - MLA Arithang, Dr. Mechung Bhutia - MLA Martam Rumtek, DB Giri - SP East, Ajay Rai - SDPO, and others related to films and cultural background.    Kishore Limbu, actor and producer of Parcel, was also felicitated in the evening. Posakay Teacher Tsewang Choden Sherpa felicitated at Chujachen

Sarvo Dharma Buddheshwar Sanasthan, Chujachen, East Sikkim, felicitated Tsewang Choden Sherpa, teacher of Posakay Primary School, for her contribution to the school on May 20. She was presented with the felicitation letter on the Inaugural Day of Buddha Purnima. The felicitation reads, “She has been serving at the Posakay Primary School since March 2, 2005, and has been found much inclined towards the students. She is known for her punctuality, best teaching methods, and ability to cope with students. It was her contribution that made Posakay Primary School a prominent center of education in the vicinity.”

Thank You, Burung JHS, for the honour.(09.12.15) I feel blessed to have received my first honour as a school teacher from the school where I was first posted. MY SPEECH ON THE OCCASION Good afternoon to all, with due permission from today's Chief Guest, Special Guest, and distinguished guests from my department, HRDD, and others. I am standing on the premises of a school where I started my journey as a school teacher. I stayed here for six long years, and I am thankful to the school administration for considering me worthy of recognition. I find myself blessed to receive my first honour as a school teacher from the school where I was first posted. During my early years, I was told that teaching was a beautiful profession. Despite this, I was made aware that it is not the easiest of professions. Honour, whether large or small, encourages you to improvise your efforts to bring out the best in you. Mr. Pradhan was felicitated for his contribution in the field of Philately and also to bring accolades to Sikkim in the map of the national and international forefront through his popular blog Proud to be Sikkimese.
