Despite Jotin Pheiroijam's Nine wickets on debut ; Sikkim wins against Manipur in Ranji Trophy

Sikkim defeated Manipur by 8 wickets in its first-ever Ranji Trophy match held on the soil of Sikkim. The two captains of the Sikkim Cricket Team and the Manipur Cricket Team There were many personal bests from the match, Nilesh Lamichanay scoring 74 (113) with 13 fours was a gem of the inning and won him Man of the Match . His 100-plus run partnership with Pankaj Rawat who scored 72 (157) was the base of the Sikkim win. Ashish Thapa becomes the first Sikkimese to score a hundred in Ranji Trophy

Sikkim played in its second match of the ongoing Ranji Trophy at Eden Gardens, Kolkata against Bihar from 24 th  February to 27 th  February 2022. The match which seemed dominated by Bihar in its first innings turned the other way around which saw Sikkim take the first-innings lead gaining 3 point(s) and drawing the match. Sikkim won the toss and chose to field first. In the first innings,  Bihar declared their innings with a total of 431 runs for the loss of 9 wickets . Sikkim bowlers were spearheaded by Palzor Tamang who took 3 wickets, Nitesh Kr. Gupta took 2 wickets and 1 wicket each by Karthik C.A , Lee Yong Lepcha & Sumit Singh . Sikkim struggled a bit by losing early wickets but Liyan Khan took the charge by scoring 75 runs along with the captain Kranthi Kumar with 287 runs and local boy Ashish Thapa with 151 runs. Sikkim defeats Manipur by 232 runs in Ranji Trophy

The first win of the season in Ranji Trophy came along the way of Sikkim in a match against Manipur on 29 th January at Vikash Cricket Ground, Bhubaneshwar, Odisha. Sikkim won the match by 232 runs, earning 6 Point(s) for the win. With this win, Sikkim is standing with 10 Point(s) in the team standing table with one win and two draws. The match was started on 27 th January with Manipur winning the toss and choosing to field first. Sikkim scored 169 runs in the first innings of which highest run was scored by Lee Yong Lepcha (45), as the Manipur had a good bowling line-up with Rex Singh taking 4 wickets, Thomas 3 wickets, Bishworjit 2 wickets and Priyojit 1 wicket. Sikkim's Milind Kumar on a verge to re-write Ranji Trophy history

Milind Kumar secured his place in All-Time Top Five run-scorer in the Ranji Trophy Season today after scoring 117 runs in the first innings and 127 not out in the second innings against Meghalaya in Round 8 of a Plate Division, Ranji Trophy Match played at KIITS Cricket Stadium, Bhubaneswar, Odisha.   He beat Wasim Jaffer’s record of 1,260 runs in a season with a run and placed himself in fifth position. Sikkim gets third Ranji Trophy win against Mizoram

Sikkim won their Ranji Trophy match against Mizoram today at Jorhat DSA Stadium , Jorhat, Assam . With this win, Sikkim has won three matches so far in the tournament and leading the team in the third position in the point(s) table with 19 points (s). The match started on 14 th  December when Mizoram won the toss and was elected to field first. In the first innings, Sikkim scored 332 runs in 89.5 overs. Milind Kumar top-scored for Sikkim with 139 runs, Bipul Sharma with 50 runs, Ashish Thapa with 42 runs and Jahan Uddin with 35 runs, to total. It was a decent total scored by Sikkim in the first innings.
